"In Hollywood, Nobody Knows Anything" -William Goldman

I lived in Los Angeles for a good year from Winter 2012-2013. See, I have a love/hate relationship with the city. I adore the weather, the Standard hotel, and the fun, lifelong friends I've made along the way. But the culture, the superficiality, and the entertainment industry... I can't stand. It's very hard for me to take LA seriously. It is such a Leo city, haha! Gregory told me a story once about having lunch at a place on Sunset Plaza off of the Sunset strip and this guy in a suit next to him spent the whole lunch period pretending to talk to somebody on his cell phone. It reminds me of this scene from the film "Argo" with Ben Affleck:

So you want to come to Hollywood, act like a big shot...

Yeah...

...without actually doing anything?

No.

You'll fit right in!

Aaand that's LA for you folks! My husband's movement, which I call the GPM Movement, will revolutionize Entertainment across the board (film/music/tv/theatre) and bring it back to its roots. Gregory Paul Martin is the throwback to the glory days of Hollywood. We've got stories that you couldn't make up... yep, they're that juicy. We've been through hell and back in this journey and we won't take no for an answer. My husband's strength and resilience is beyond words. I seriously don't know how he does it.

On a brighter note, I'd love to give the Standard Hotel in West Hollywood an enthusiastic shoutout for being our amazing LA home. We got married here Christmas 2012 and it was an absolute dream (the hotel was empty and serene!). Did you know this hotel used to be an old people's home? Pretty interesting story. Now it's a popular, contemporary & boutique hotel with a unique pool & music scene. I want to give a personal shoutout to Jon Disatapundhu for consistently taking great care of us and performing stellar CRM throughout the years. Thank you for always making me feel at home in a place that took me a while to warm up to. As a former aspiring hotelier, I can say that CRM is the secret to success in any business but ESPECIALLY in the hotel industry.

I hope everyone is enjoying a fabulous Sunday wherever you are on the globe.

What are some of your favorite LA activities?

Love

Cherie
