What To Know
Luxury hotel living in a landmark building.
Berner's Tavern run by acclaimed Chef, Jason Atherton, is a gastronomic gem.
Tasteful design, intuitive service, bustling nightlife, all rolled up into a modern luxury boutique hotel - what more do you need?
The London Edition is the third property in the Marriott/Ritz Carlton's Edition brand so you can redeem your rewards here or book through a Virtuoso Travel Designer aka me! ;)
Sophistication and opulence resides here thanks to hotel entrepreneur, Ian Schrager.
Ideally located in the core of London in Fitzrovia, on the edge of vibrant Soho.
Service is impeccable. They run a tight ship, especially at the front desk.
Every single person working at the hotel was exceptionally professional, warmhearted, and passionate.
The Punch Room is one of their stunning and winning features. Have you heard of this concept?
There is no spa but there is a great gym.
The sink was semi clogged and the shower wasn't turning off properly after each use.
Again, no spa but with this kind of unparalleled service, they will point you in the right direction or bring the spa to you!
The stark contrast between luxury yacht cabin interior and the minimalist design bathroom appealed to me. It was very cozy and inviting, breathing new life into the ever-changing definition of luxury. I was impressed with how artfully ruffled the tan faux-fur throw was on the bed. That night I had the best sleep I had in months!
The welcome guest amenity of cookies (decorated as the queen with pearls) and tea was quintessentially English and charming. These amenities are curated depending on the time of day.
The bathroom was bright, huge, and very white. I can appreciate this level of minimalism. What do you think?
And you know you're in a cool hotel if they have their own newspaper. I was especially pleased to see the beloved Marlon Brando making a small feature in it.

But wait! There's more!
Wonderful surprise - welcome guest amenity
Because I booked through Virtuoso (myself), I received a free upgrade to a city deluxe room. The rooms are the same in decor with varying sizes. This is modern luxury at its finest with a dollop of edgy.
When you stay here, do not, I repeat, do not deprive yourself of the orgasmic experience waiting to be had at the London Edition's restaurant, Berner's Tavern. I was so grateful to snag a reservation as they can be hard to come by. Michelin Star chef, Jason Atherton, who also runs the restaurant at the NY Edition, crafts gorgeous and classic British food here. The staff and sommelier were over the top good and knowledgeable. Gregory couldn't finish his meal so thank God we took it to go to enjoy another healthy portion of lunch the day after.
Fortunately, because I booked via Virtuoso, $100 USD (£78) of our dinner was already paid for. Score!
PS: Prepare to take the time to drink in the art adorning the walls.
PPS: Michael, who seated us, was flamboyantly fabulous, impeccably dressed and such a breath of fresh air!
Dinner was decadent, expensive, but worth every penny.
And of course breakfast was a dream and taken in the same magnificent room. Not in the mood for a full English breakfast? Opt for some vanilla waffles topped with raspberries and shredded chocolate paired with their colorful selection of healthy juices from carrot to ginger.
Alas, in true Taurean fashion, I stuck with what I love... a full English fry up.
As per usual, complimentary a la carte dining for 2 daily in Berner's Tavern or room service is included in a Virtuoso booking. Do you need anymore convincing? ;)

Words of Thanks
A massive thank you to the DOSM, Sabine Kern, and the Director of Guest Relations, Lizzie Peck for their phenomenal attention to detail and for crafting a unique and memorable stay for us. We experienced authentic conversation the moment we checked in, starting with the friendly doorman Amadeo and the ever so charming Italian, Christian. Lizzie paid close attention to my comment about visiting Florida later this month having gifted me a Florida lonely planet guide book to take with me on my travels. In addition, she bought us a round of drinks as a wonderful start to our stay. The service here is second to none and I am proud to recommend it to all my discerning clients, friends, family, and colleagues who are looking for a ultra sumptuous and sexy stay in London. I look forward to stay there again in October and visiting more hotels under Marriott's new luxury brand umbrella, Edition. The West hollywood location (where I got married and used to live) is on my radar.
